A project of architecture and interior design. The challenges were making rooms that talk to the outside as much as possible while keeping the house private. Because the long side of the house sits three metres from the main street in the village, we settled on an entrance that opens views down towards the sunken garden and up towards the sky — as long as it is above eye level. The entrance also emphasises the perspective of the interior, with the end of the building carrying the line of sight out.

A generous kitchen with a large island to work at. The upper floor is given over to the bedrooms.

To warm the house through good air conditioning, we made a return-air opening at the foot of a wall set some way back behind the sofa — so that the warm air is drawn downwards and "wraps" the people sitting in the living room.

The television wall is there to create an optical illusion of perspective, and brings warmth through joinery.

The glass in the kitchen conceals a screen for the people sitting at the island, and also reflects the whole public space — which gives whoever is working at the sink command of the room, and visual contact with the children.
