Apartment for a Young Couple in Kfar Saba

An apartment the parents bought for their son and his new wife. Here too, to keep the space open, we chose to separate the living room from the kitchen with a free-standing element: the face turned to the living room holds the screen and the media it needs, and on its other side it is a kitchen island in every respect, with a hob, and above it an extractor built in gypsum that draws cooking smells out of the apartment.

The dining area has an autonomy of its own, and the shelves on its wall are there to show the character of the people who live here — through the ornaments, pictures and keepsakes they choose to put on show, whether for themselves or for guests.

The whole public space — the dining area, the living room and the terrace, and between them the central piece of joinery carrying the television and hiding the kitchen From the terrace — a wall of shelves on a blue ground holding ornaments, pictures and keepsakes, a round dining table, and the joinery with the kitchen behind it The rear face of the joinery — the hob on the white worktop with an extractor built in gypsum above it, and the glossy grey run of units at the end The central piece of joinery close up — a television in a white frame with a timber drawer beneath, and on its other side the hob and the built extractor The kitchen — glossy grey joinery, a sink facing a window with a view, and an island with a hob and bar seating The kitchen and island seen wide — the back of the joinery serves as an open shelf for glassware, and beyond it the way out to the terrace A utensil drawer pulled open — storage the full width of the unit beneath the worktop
